McDonald is the biggest Fast food chain in the United State. According to the 2024 annual report
The Revenue from Franchised restaurant is 3958M,
The franchised restaurant-occupancy expenses 635M (16% of revenue)
Sales by Company-owned and operated restaurants = 2310M
Company-owned and operated restaurant expense = 1977M (85% of revenue)
I don't understand why the difference of operation expense ratio between franchised and company-owned is so huge?
Isn't McDonald exploiting the franchisee benefits? The fast food franchisees have no choice but to lay out the employees? Or they mark up the company-own operated restaurant expense to avoid tax?
Why should we allow the world economy be controlled and dominated by these greedy giant corporations?
Isn't it stupid to use the fast food industry as an example to oppose pay raises for low-paid workers?
