這份長達68頁的訴訟由張郡格在紐約州懷特普萊恩斯聯邦地區法院提起，其中將神韻描述為「強迫勞動企業」，通過威脅和公開羞辱剝削未成年舞蹈演員賺取數億美元的收入。
該訴訟稱，神韻通過各種手段向舞者灌輸服從意識，包括沒收護照、禁止接觸外部媒體，如果舞者質疑該團體的做法，就被指責為中國政府的間諜，並且讓違規者接受公開批評。
張郡格說，她在2009年13歲時從台灣被招募加入神韻，成為一名舞者。她一直隨團演出，直到2020年離開，當時她24歲。
